Amvrakikos Gulf
A highly productive oceanographic survey has just been completed, focusing primarily on mapping and characterizing the Gulf’s anoxic environment and sampling the bacterial mats covering parts of the seafloor.
The survey was conducted within the framework of the Endangered Landscapes & Seascapes Programme (ELSP), as part of the project “Revitalizing the Amvrakikos Gulf,” coordinated by the Blue Marine Foundation.
We are now looking forward to analysing the data and samples and discovering what the results will reveal about this unique and highly vulnerable marine environment!
